Japanese Beef Stew Recipe
1 pound boneless sirloin beef
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
2 teaspoons cornstarch
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 dash white pepper
2 hot green chilis
2 green onions
1 red bell pepper
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
2 teaspoons garlic, chopped finely
1 teaspoon ginger root, chopped finely
2 tablespoons brown bean sauce
1/2 cup diced canned bamboo shoots
1 teaspoon sugar
1/2 cup skinless raw peanuts
1. Trim excess fat from the beef, cut beef into cubes. Mix together oil, cornstarch, salt and white pepper. Toss spices mixture with the beef cubes. Cover and refrigerate for a half hour.
2. Cut bell peppers into cubes, chopped onion into diagonal for about 1 inch, and thin slices chili. Remove the seeds from it.
3. Heat skillet wok then add tablespoons of oil. Add beef and stir fry for 2 minutes or until the beef turns into brown color. Remove it from skillet.
4. Add another 2 tablespoons of oil into the skillet. Heat the oil and saute chili, garlic, ginger root, bamboo shoots, and bean sauce. Stir for a minute then add beef, bell pepper and stir fry for a minute. Add the onion and sprinkle with peanuts.
